Shawn Sutherland is a Senior Airport Consultant for the Airports Group, with Tetra Tech Canada Inc. He has more than 40 years of experience in airport management, operations, maintenance, and development. He has worked in all facets of airports including the direct management of six different airports in Canada: Norman Wells, Fort McMurray, Cambridge Bay, Yellowknife, Whitehorse for Transport Canada, and West Kootenay Regional for the City of Castlegar.
He has been responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of airports, staff development and training, business management, planning (including emergency, security and zoning) and control of major capital projects at numerous airports across Canada. He also has six years of experience as the Director of a municipal civic works department, where he was responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of city facilities and services (roads, parks, sidewalks, street lighting, etc.); water and wastewater
treatment/ distribution and collection systems; as well as the regional airport.
