Course Overview:

Municipalities, industries, institutions and commercial operations must all be prepared to manage the risks and consequences of a large scale emergency. Managing the impact of emergencies on lives and property is the responsibility of all organizations. Learn the basics of Emergency Management. This three-day course includes the following topics:
•Working in an Emergency Operations Centre
•Interacting with Emergency Services
•Understanding the Incident Management System
•Positive Risk Management and Business Continuity
•Crisis Communications Skills
•Documentation and Scribe Notes
•3 Simulated Exercises where participants will experience different roles

Course Objectives:

• Understand the role of the On-Scene Controller
• Understand the roles and responsibilities of the Airport Emergency Control Centre (AECC)
• Learn how to conduct proper scene size up and about situational awareness
• Learn how to develop strategies and tactics and the use of Incident Action Plans
• Understand the appropriate regulations relating to aircraft crashes
• Developing recovery plans
• Learning to conduct accident investigations and aircraft removal
• Participants will be able to conduct an incident debriefing and after-action report
