Online Human Factors (EN/FR)

This comprehensive Human Factors course will provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the relationship between human factors and safety management. Through a series of focused modules, attendees will explore key topics such as understanding human factors and safety management, recognizing and managing human factors, and addressing communication difficulties in the workplace. The course will cover the “Dirty Dozen” concept and understanding threats and errors, equipping participants with the tools to enhance safety in their professional environments. Upon successful completion of the final exam, participants will receive a certificate of achievement valid for three years.

Virtual Wildlife Control Course
Live, instructor-led virtual format!
As required by Transport Canada, airport staff involved in wildlife control at an airport must receive training at least every five years. This one-day course presented over two days, is designed for individuals in an airport field role whose duties are related to the airport wildlife management plan. This course meets Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) requirements and provides participants with a certificate and documentation of training. This course utilizes classroom lecture style teaching, group work, discussions and individual exercises.

Virtual QAA Training Course
Live, instructor-led virtual format!
This two day training session will cover the basics of implementing a Quality Assurance Program as part of a Safety Management System in an airport environment. Participants will learn the regulatory requirements and how to implement a system that meets or exceeds them. It will allow for airport personnel with little to no auditing experience to learn how to conduct an internal audit and address the resulting corrective actions, or for more experienced auditors to pick up some nuances that may improve their auditing effectiveness. This course will also introduce concepts of system design to allow for trending and continuous improvement in processes.
Course Schedule: These sessions will be presented at 10 am to 4 pm (EST) with a 1/2 hour lunch break each day via Zoom Meeting.

Virtual TP312 5th Edition
Live, Instructor-led virtual format!
The course is delivered via Zoom, live, instructor led presentations and interactive discussions. The intent is to provide course participants with a high-level introduction to TP312 5th Edition and will speak to the differences between 4th and 5th Edition and how they apply to certification. We will also discuss differences between the original release of 5th Edition and the differences incorporated into Amendment #1.

Virtual Hazard Register Workshop
Live, instructor-led format!
This Hazard Register Workshop will cover the Safety Management System concept of a Hazard Register and the basics of SMS data analysis. Participants will work through creating a hazard register and doing risk assessments. The course will be mainly participatory with minimal lecture time. It is recommended that students have a basic understanding of SMS.

Virtual Airport Operations Training Course
Live, instructor-led virtual format!
This course, delivered over two days, will enable the student to navigate, identify and apply regulations/standards to specific airport classifications, identify airfield hazards and deficiencies against appropriate standards, identify conditions with construction or safety planning as well as identify conditions that require a NOTAM and the process for issuance, identify circumstances that require notification to Transport Canada, Transportation Safety Board and Nav Canada, and will encourage critical thinking through application of policy, procedure and standards to airport operations.
