National Research Council of Canada (NRC) Webinar The National Research Council of Canada is, Canada's largest federal R&D organization, is actively working on solutions to accelerate the Canadian aviation industry's transition to “Net-Zero” and to strengthen Canada's position as a clean technology leader. Building on the success of the Hybrid Electric Aircraft Testbed (HEAT) project, which took its inaugural flight in February 2022, the NRC is looking to launch a Canadian hydrogen flight research platform: a multi-phase, multi-objective aircraft project that will drive the advancement of non-conventional hydrogen & electric propulsion technologies, requisite airport infrastructure, and essential certification pathways. Through targeted development and demonstration, the NRC is looking to accelerate the commercialization of key enabling technologies at a scale that will have a meaningful impact on airport and aircraft operational emissions. On March 19, 2024, please join Don Goulard, Vice President at the Nanaimo Airport Commission and chair or committee member at ACI, BCAC, CAC, and IAAE Canada; and Natesa MacRae, Senior Sustainable Aviation Researcher and H2 Technologies Lead for the NRC's Low Emission Aviation Program (LEAP) to learn about: International, national, and provincial initiatives that are driving the need for new technological pathways towards a sustainable aviation industry.
